The Indian Classical Artistes Network (iCan) is a premier Malaysian organization dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and empowerment of Indian classical arts. We serve as a unifying platform for practitioners, students, and lovers of classical music and dance, fostering a vibrant community where tradition meets opportunity.
From soulful Carnatic vocal concerts to mesmerizing Bharatanatyam performances, iCan is the heartbeat of Malaysia’s classical arts scene, bridging the gap between seasoned maestros and the next generation of talent.
Unify: To bring together the diverse community of classical artists under one roof, fostering collaboration rather than competition.
Empower: To provide a professional platform for artists to showcase their talents, from intimate chamber concerts to grand stage productions.
Preserve: To uphold the sanctity of traditional arts such as Carnatic music and classical dance forms through regular events, workshops, and digital archives.
Established with a passion for culture and community, iCan made history right from its inception. We launched our journey on January 29, 2022, with a record-breaking event that set the tone for our commitment to excellence. Our debut event, the Tyagaraja Aradhana, earned an honorable spot in the Malaysia Book of Records for the "Most Number of Performers Performing the Pancharatna Krithis," featuring 110 artists moving in perfect unison.
Since then, we have continued to create milestones, including the majestic Mummurthi Vizha and the ongoing Carnatic Katcheri Series, a monthly initiative that keeps the classical tradition alive and accessible.

In collaboration with the historic Sangeetha Abivirthi Sabha (Malaysia’s oldest Sabha), we organize monthly concerts (every 3rd Thursday) to give qualified musicians a prestigious stage to perform.
We host large-scale cultural tributes and festivals that celebrate the Trinity of Carnatic Music and other legends of the art form.
We provide opportunities for up-and-coming artists to perform alongside established names, ensuring the baton of tradition is passed on smoothly.
Through our YouTube channel and social media, we document live concerts, creating a permanent library of Malaysian classical talent for the world to see.
